Starting the Nursery...
September 3, 2002 - 31 weeks 3 days

In the first trimester, you were able to listen to the baby's heartbeat at 11 weeks, 2 days. If you remember, it was beating really fast. As the pregnancy progesses, the heartbeat slows down somewhat, but is still much faster than an adult's heartbeat.

Listen to our baby's heartbeat (MP3, 596K) from 30 weeks, 2 days. The extra thumps you hear are the baby's movements.

We're starting to put the nursery together. Gifts have started arriving from our gift registry via UPS from our friends from out of state who can't make it to the shower.

Since I read somewhere that I should really get things together before I feel too big to do anything, we've started to work on getting the baby's room ready.

Here are some pictures of the nursery...remember that we're just getting started. My mom is making some celestial/castle themed decorations for the crib and re-covering the glider, so the pattern you see now is not the final theme.
